Every5 Chess

4th Row and 6th Column are frozen

If you like unexpected in chess you will like this variant ... what you see above is the situation after the 5th move ... every time black player plays 5th, 10th, 15th etc. move, one row and one column is frozen ... it stays frozen only through th 6th, 16th, 26th and so on moves ... and it means no move OUT , WITHIN and INTO this tandem is possible ... long range pieces cannot attack through frozen rows and colums and Kings are immune from attacks when inside frozen rows and columns ... Knights can jump over and pawns cannot move 2 fields from their starting position if it would require jump through frozen row. And it also means if white King was checked before frozen process began, white looses the game in case the only defence would be possible within affected row or coulmn (the same applies to black King) ... also, if either of the sites cannot move at all, game is lost ... it's easy for the software to manage this situations. When playing head to head, use two suits of cards from Ace to 8 and draw one card from each suit ... assign red suit for rows and black for columns ... enjoy.
